Short Report Of Working Group Surveillance Of Covid-19

On January 8th, 2021, The Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin and The Minister of Research and Technology/Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency Bambang PS Brodjonegoro have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on SARS-CoV-2 Virus Genome Surveillance. This MOU served as the basis for the formation of a Working Group Surveillance of Covid-19 Sequencing (WGS). This working group involving 17 laboratories under Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Religion, and Provincial Government.

On March 2nd, 2021 The National Institute of Health Research and Development (NIHRD), MOH and the WGS of Covid-19 Sequencing; reported the first case of B.1.1.7 variant of SARSCoV-2. Since then, 1178 sequence have been detected, and found 10 variants of B.1.1.7. of all the sequenced specimens. These specimens was originated from 31 provinces throughout Indonesia. Weekly average of specimens that have been investigated are 145. The distribution of virus sequences, can be found in the graph below. (UAM)
