Short Report Of Working Group Surveillance Of Covid-19

On May 31st, 2021 the Working Group Surveillance of Covid-19 reported an update on finding of variant of concern (VOC). One thousand eight hundreds and seventy eight genomes have been sequenced, of which 59 cases from the VOC have been found.  There is an increase in number of cases of variant B.1.1.7, along with another two variants, i.e., B.1.351 and B.1.617.

Twenty three cases of B.1.1.7 variant of England was distributed in 10 provinces in the Island of Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan. Four cases of B.1.351 variant of South Africa was distributed in Jakarta Province, East Java and Bali. The highest number of B.1.617 variant of India was found in Centre of Java Province.  Further information regarding the distribution of virus sequences, can be found in the graph below. (UAM)
